Light Rail
Having backed (and rallied for) the light rail right from the beginning, Council is now fighting the implementation of the light rail at every step. Apparently, they are dissatisfied with the provision made for parking along the Anzac Parade Corridor and are taking steps to guarantee no loss of parking at all (i.e. the creation of new spots to replace the old spots), even though they feel this should be the responsibility of State Transport. They have set aside several million dollars to ensure this, and intend to buy the block near Souths Juniors to create a carpark.
As a Chamber we would like to outline your specific concerns and expectations, and then draft an official letter to Council outlining the same, with a request that those concerns be addressed specifically and in writing, rather than these vague and confused promises.
